Falling into the Arms of God

Dear Friends,

One of my spiritual direction mentors shared words of wisdom with our training class that have remained with me for the past fifteen years. She said, "when practicing the art of spiritual direction, one must lean back into the arms of God."

I was reflecting on these words recently as I pondered next steps for the ministry of Grace in Action. Lately, the journey of Grace in Action has felt more like we are "falling into the arms of God." And so, that is the title of our April newsletter.

There have been many times when we have had no clue how we would be able to feed the number of people who have come in the doors of Grace House. Yet, we have prayed and trusted in faith, that God will provide and with the faithful service of our lunch coordinator, Clara Robison as well as our wonderful lunch volunteers, our guests have never gone hungry.

There have been many times when a guest would ask for a needed item that we did not have on hand, yet inevitably, a community member would donate that VERY item on the VERY day we needed it! Why? Because in faith, we have fallen into the arms of God and trusted. We have trusted that the One who says, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" is faithful indeed!

Today, as I write this article, Grace in Action is falling into the arms of God. Once again we take that leap of faith and trust that God, the Great Catcher, will lift us up into loving arms of support. We trust completely in God's direction as our board of directors prepare for a meeting on April 21st with church partner leadership. We trust that through wise counsel, we will be given the guidance and direction we seek for God's best plan for the ministry of Grace in Action and church partner collaboration in caring for the meek and poor in our community.

Your prayers for this upcoming meeting, the future direction of God's ministry to homeless individuals in need and continued provision are greatly appreciated.

Church partner collaboration and support in this ministry is essential to our ongoing provision of services in these critical economic times. Please encourage your faith community leaders to attend the April 21st meeting. Thank you for your individual and collective prayers and supportive gifts. You, our donors and partners, ARE...GRACE IN ACTION!

Peace,
Cindy
